Hi, I’m Michelle! Welcome! Forever in Faith is a lifestyle blog where I post about our adoption journey, home, renovations and projects, and more. I originally started it because my husband, Robbie, and I purchased a home and we’ve been taking on some renovations. Over the past several years, we’ve been renting, saving, waiting, and praying for this opportunity, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Many friends and family have asked how things are going and if they can see pictures. More recently, we’ve decided to adopt and we are so excited! I’ll still post our home progress, but as parents-to-be, we’re excited to share our adoption adventure. I think a blog would be a great way to chronicle and share our journey, not only as new homeowners, but as a growing family.

Robbie and I met when we were 17 and we were married on 7-7-07. He’s the most amazing man I know and I’m so proud to call his family my family. And if you know Robbie, you know what a great man he is and he’s a true reflection of his family and what they represent. My parents are from the Philippines and I love the culture and I’m very proud to be Filipino! I’m one of 6 children–we’re a blended family and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We’re all different personalities which makes it so fun and I love my family dearly. Robbie and I have a sweet pup, Sophie, a Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu mix who I’m obsessed with. She definitely has my heart and Robbie will never understand why I need to take a million photos of her!

Home Sweet Home
I live in the amazing Pacific Northwest and I’m blessed to be surrounded by such beauty. Our home is in Washington, though I frequent Oregon and Idaho often. The NW is one of the most gorgeous places I’ve ever been and I love our seasons, especially Fall. Nothing beats the crisp air and the colorful trees in the NW! Since the great outdoors is our backyard, we’re close to lakes, the mountains, the coast, and the Columbia River Gorge, so we get out and immerse ourselves in nature as much as possible.
We purchased our home in late 2014 and we love it more each and every day. Since I originally started this blog because people were interested in our new home and renovations, I’ll give a little background about that. Our house was built in the early 90’s and we wanted to put our own touch on it and update it. There were also some other repairs that needed to be made. We’ve had a lot of fun making it our own. I’m not sure what my exact style is, but I would describe it as a mix of classic, transitional, and a bit rustic. I love incorporating clean and contemporary with natural, organic elements and textures, along with antique, industrial, and vintage items. I grew up on 14 acres with a barn, cows, and chickens, so I’m definitely influenced by that farmhouse feel, but I also like things that are chic and feminine. I’m drawn to neutral color palettes… my mom tells me Sophie inspired our color scheme. 🙂 I love color too, but I tend to style my home in neutrals, adding in pops of color when I’m in the mood. In the end, I want our space to look and feel open and airy, comfortable and relaxed, and pretty, of course!

My health and keeping active is important to me and I love going to CrossFit, Combat/Kickboxing class, barre3, and yoga. I follow a Paleo diet as much as possible because I feel my best on it. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease (gluten allergy) last year and subsequently an intolerance to dairy, though I had already been avoiding gluten and dairy for some time because they make me feel ill. I’ll share recipes when I can, and when I do, they will always be gluten-free, and likely dairy-free too, or at least with the option to make it dairy-free.
I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2010 and we have struggled with infertility for 4 years. It’s been a long, painful road, but it’s a beautiful one that has brought us to where we are today. Adoption has been on our hearts for a long time, even before we were married. After lots of prayer and giving it to God, we knew we were being called to adopt. The peace and joy we experienced once we let God take the wheel is one I never could have imagined when we were trying to push our plan. (And it’s never our plan, it’s His!) This blog will serve as a way to update families and friends on our adventure to find our baby!

Life certainly has had its ups and downs, but no matter what, I have complete faith in God’s beautiful plan and His perfect timing. My blog name reflects my faith in His grace and guidance no matter what season of life I’m in. Whenever I get overwhelmed or afraid, I turn to Him because he always, always has my back. 🙂 One of my absolute favorite bible verses is:
“God is within her; she will not fall.” -Psalm 46:5
