If you know me, you know I love Christmastime! Crazy amounts. The decorations, tree, music, cheesy made-for-tv movies, but most of all, the celebration of Christ’s birthday and being surrounded by family. Some of the best memories of the year are made during the holiday season.
It wasn’t necessarily our first Christmas at the “new” house; we had just moved prior to last Christmas, but were dealing with renovations at the time. Needless to say, instead of decking the halls, we were replacing the siding, living with a half finished kitchen, contractors coming and going, and boxes and totes were everywhere waiting to be unpacked. But this year, we were able to enjoy our home during the holidays and it was SO. NICE. And I decorated quite a bit! We put up a 12 foot tree and it looked great with our vaulted ceilings. A total pain to decorate, but pretty, nonetheless! The photos look nice, but the reality of it was the bottom half was decorated while the top remained bare for 2 weeks! (We needed a tall ladder to get to the upper part.) Our neighbors commented that it must be a big tree because all they could see from the window was the middle of it. LOL!
My absolute favorite part of this year was telling our families about some pretty amazing news… We’re adopting! Our parents already knew and we were dying to tell everyone else! We told everyone we made our Christmas card this year and I made a sign for us to hold up as our “Christmas card.” It was so much fun!
Here are some photos of our home and sharing our adoption plans…
